Yet another woman has come forward to accuse Bill Cosby of sexual assault.
Helen Gumpel is a former actress who appeared on one episode of The Cosby Show in 1987. She says Cosby called her back to the set after she was finished filming and offered her a drink in what she believes was an attempt to drug her.
Gumpel says she refused the offer, and Cosby responded by thrusting his crotch into her face. She says she then left the studio without incident.
Gumpel claims that after her encounter with Cosby, it became impossible for her to find work as an actress and model.
“I never thought of myself as a victim because I refused his advances,” Gumpel said at a recent press conference. “But my career was a victim.”
The accusation comes on the heels of Cosby’s decision to cancel two standup performances in Boston due to “treacherous weather.”
Just two weeks ago, Cosby was accused of rape by Cindra Ladd – the wife of famed Hollywood producer Alan Ladd.
The total number of Cosby accusers is now over 30, but the comedian has yet to face any formal charges.
Most of the alleged incidents happened several decades ago, meaning that Cosby cannot be prosecuted due to the statute of limitations on sexual assault charges.
A model named Chloe Goins plans to press charges against Cosby for an incident that she says took place at the Playboy Mansion in 2008.
If investigators determine that the accusations against Cosby qualify as rape, then he could be tried for his alleged assault on Goins.
The comedy icon continues to maintain that he is innocent.
